Spread of Rage: 5 questions to Fatal Move

Fatal Move is one of the incredible bands signed to UPR, along with big names such as Manu Armata, Alea Jacta Est or Get the Shot, no less! And clearly, those who have already listened to their albums know that they have absolutely nothing to envy to their « label mates ». Having crossed the road of the greatest during their 13 years of existence, and being programmed on many festivals and events of size in all Europe, they will come to strike us the blow of grace with their energetic and ultra powerful hardcore.

RiskTheDeath: Introduce the band in a few words.
Fatal Move: We come from Merksem (Antwerp), and Fatal Move started in 2009 and were immediately known for our hardcore punching and passionate singing from the start. Our lyrics cover everything that concerns us and our peers, and our energetic stage performances have earned us notorious status in no time. One thing is for sure, we want to make our mark on the local and international scene and we won’t stop until we’ve conquered all your souls! We released our second full length in March 2019 through Useless Pride Records (Get The Shot, Alea Jacta Est, Kids of Rage, …) titled ‘Somewhere Between Life And Death’; this album is dedicated to the impact of a life-threatening disease on yourself, your loved ones and the future. Packed with crushing riffs, breakdowns and self-reflecting lyrics, this album contains some of the heaviest yet rhythmic songs we’ve ever written.

RTD: Which band influenced you the most?
FM: From oldskool Hatebreed albums to Terror, Madball, Behemoth, Korn, Meshuggah, Gojira, Slayer, State Champs, No Pressure… we have a very wide range of interests.

RTD: What is your favorite retro game?
Thomas: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Nintendo. Best game ever.
Kenneth: Killer instinct and mortal kombat on gameboy.

RTD: Why shouldn’t we miss your show at the Spread of Rage Festival?
FM: We like to have fun and give that vibe to the people. Also our high energy on stage won’t keep you standing still. So no time for crossed arms or hands in your pockets, let’s make chaos!

RTD: Do you have a concert or recording anecdote to tell us?
FM: When we recorded drums for somewhere between life and death they had to make a construction to pin Joeri’s drum stuck to the ground cause he was playing so hard that everything moved forward constantly (really happened!).

Thanks to Side to Side Production and the band Fatal Move for their answers and their time… Don’t hesitate to watch the band’s presentation video on the festival’s Facebook page.
